Which country has the most (non-WRC) rallies each year?
First post, although I'm something of a lurker. WRC brought me to rally, but meeting local clubman level rallyistas has made the sport that much more exciting. (Well, that, and there aren't ANY WRC events in my country.)
I was just curious if anyone knew how many rallies were in various countries. Like how many rallies in Germany or Ireland or France. Thought it might be interesting to know which country is the most hooked on this wonderful sport.
Thanks!

I have no figures on that, but normally it is the biggest countries that have most rallies.
In Europe I will guess France, Italy, Spain , Germany and Great Britain.

According to the last annual report (2009) of the Motor Sports Association in the UK they issued 8993 rally licences to competitors & 922 rally event permits in 2008. Those figures will include every type of rally from Rally GB down to small local club events and will also cover events running on normal open public roads as well as special stage rallies.

In Bulgaria we have rally championship, hillclimb championship and something like touring car championship... We call it "track" (with rally cars on some junction in several citys).
We have 7 rallys (this year rally Bulgaria will be a WRC round), 9 hillclimbs and 8 "tracks".
We have autocross and rallycross championship too.My english is not the best :\
