If Motorsport to enter NGTC Punto?

The Scottish-based outfit is likely to run a pair of Abarth Grande Puntos built to the BTCC's new low-cost NGTC rules package, and powered by the turbocharged TOCA petrol engine.

Good luck to them. It will be nice to see an Abarth Punto racing whether it is this year or next.

Well, as mr gow has publicly stated that the punto isn't eligable under NGTC rules. And a fews other factors, i can't see this proposal ever happening.
so don't get your hopes up folks,

Could it be that it was mis-reported and the team might be planning an S2000 car with an NGTC engine? I know there are S2000 Abarth Puntos in the International Rally Challenge though there are obviously differences between rally and touring car Super 2000.

I love the fact that Gow doesn't want small cars in when he's already turned the BTCC from a series where saloons battled it out to one where it hatchbacks started to fill the grid which for some people (me included) just isn't how touring cars should be.

The BTCC needs more cars on the grid and if you don't want cars that are perceived as small then tell the Civic's and Leon's to go swivel Alan.

Personally I don't want hatchbacks in any touring car series but surely if you're going to let the Leon's in then you should let a Grande Punto in even if it is a tad over 10cm shorter.

Please keep up Daniel. SEAT Leon is not eligible under NGTC as it is also too short 4.315m instead of the required 4.4m
