    So, I had this thought.....

Since drivers are calling for a guaranteed "Green Flag Finish," why not stop counting the laps that are run under yellow when the race is 10 or less laps to go? Freeze the lap count, even if the race goes yellow with one to go, and you have a guaranteed green flag finish!

Your idea has some merit, but actually if the drivers do not like it, and it is not a life threatening item, why don't they just take their ball and go play somewhere else.
Grade school whining makes a sport already filled with asinine rhetoric look even more asinine than it is.

Kind of like those whining that a 300 mile race didn't run 300 green flag laps so it's really not over. Does anyone wonder why the brilliant show producers at NASCAR had to implement an "only one green white, checker restart rule." I wonder if it has anything to do with drivers being drivers, not doing anything life threatening or the like, but crashing in the final couple of laps.

Maybe if they realized they might not get a 2 lap shot at the end they better race for the lead at least the last 25 to 50 laps.
