I was imagining these builders will eventually sell more cars to other teams/racers...
but now i wonder if thats the actual plan. fia seems to be avoiding having more privateers... since they closed the door on ME BUYING AN UPGRADE KIT for my i20 to compete against Tanak in monte carlo 2027 (example).
what they will say next? "you gotta build 10 wrc27 cars, but you can only sell 2 at a time for a constructor related team" or something dumb like that.
    i completely lost my trust

Yes. But 2027 is too soon whilst their cars are useless outside of WRC. They've no need to rush into builds because it's an irrational expectation in the first place for them to sell any cars into the market yet. The only possible chance they have of competing multiple rounds at all in the next 2 years is if the promoter/s support them. That's still possible IMO because that's why we have heard from the two constructors who announced.

Also it's why I expect RC1 to return. If new cars are not being open to privateers next year and with Rally2-WRC-kit as well, it shows clearly that parity is not desired, so when they have to be opened up to the masses, the P1 top category will have to step up.

Imagine on Dragon's Den or Shark Tank programme.

"Hi, I'm asking for €2m for my company that builds rally cars"
"What's the size of the market?"
"We expect there to be 6 cars to be built by another manufacturer and a further demand for no cars"
    "I'm out"

I really do wonder who would buy an expensive & unproven WRC27. Most likely an equal number of people who develop a Rally2 kit.

(The Homologation of the Rally2 runs out soon, but I bet my left ass-cheek that it will be extended significantly (indefinitely))

Same number of people who'd buy an expensive & unproven rally car.

But these new cars (with free engine, chasses & bodywork design) will eventually replace even Rally4. It will be huge and if it had a better name than 'WRC27', more people might see it.

I don't want to be super negative all the time, but that will only pan out if the plans of the FIA pan out and .. well ... I guess ... maybe ...

Don't forget that EuroRX will use them from 2028.

But tbh that's the championship I expect they will postpone the adoption of new rules, no way there will be 20+ cars available to buy, unless FIA allows teams to develop own cars outside the WRC ecosystem.

And a meteor could strike tomorrow. FIA are in charge of the FIA championships and the only alternative is no more FIA championships.
