You can feel the desparation of the FIA. They saw what the Toyota is capable of and what the new tuners will not be capable of, so balance by weight is out of the question + most likely the Rally2 manufacturers were rioting since Rally2 in WRC1 would ruin their business

And another question is who from current Rally2 manufacturers is/will be interested in building this "kit for nothing".

    For 7500$ purchase price ^^

Additionally: I am not a engineer, but .. it it really that easy to bolt some cheap aero devices to an existing car to make it faster? Don't you need to adapt the whole aerodynamic concept of the car to it?

And what at current market prices will 7.5k Euro buy you in terms of extra performance?

The right to drive against rc1.

But 7,5k is nothing. It's the obligation to do a full season that will make sure nobody can do it.

Lancia absolutely wont do it. They dont have a money to compete for a whole 14 events. Toyota probably will not go that route if they are having trouble to match the speed of their new car against "their stock rally2 car". Forget Hyundai. They will say it's too little time and they are not there yet to make a decision. M-Sport maybe the only one, but who can guarantee if that kit will even work? Nobody.

As I said it, it looks more and more there isn't interest... Even with all that talk about promoter and their 25 year commitment, we got to 7 year deal. They could only steal what's left in that time.

And again... Even when there is some news it always brings even more questions and gead scratching.

This decision with just 6 months notice is crazy. How are the Rally2 car Manufacturers supposed to build and test their new aero kit and also organise a full season of drivers and entries.

This has come from the new promoter so it can ensure there will be constructors/teams in the 'constructors' championship next year.

Lancia will be willing so expect 1 or 2 supported teams again - but it's not clear if these have to be manufacturer teams only. But don't expect many privateers they won't want to be seen.

As for competitiveness across WRC27, Rally2-WRC-Kit and Rally2: who knows. They'll all be top class, but only the first two will be top category.

    Hopefully more WRC news tomorrow!
