The most confusing thing is the decline in their tarmac performance. 2017 car was good on tarmac and also the pre-evo version of the rally1 was fast. I don't understand how is it possible for such a large team not to understand what is wrong with the car. Maybe the removal of the hybrid unit affects them more thank we think.

I seem to recall reading that Hyundai team knows what the fundamental problems are but homologation rules (eg. number and scope of jokers) does not allow them to rectify everything.
