    2026 Testing

Well it's here, and all teams except Williams have had the cars on track for the first official session. Though a closed session photos are leaking out, and we have some initial times as well as unofficial lap counts.

    As it stands now....

    Mercedes
    George Russell
    Day Four
    1:16.445**
    Red Bull
    Isack Hadjar
    Day One
    1:18.159
    Ferrari
    Charles Leclerc
    Day Four
    1:18.223**
    McLaren
    Lando Norris
    Day Three
    1:18.307
    Racing Bulls
    Arvid Lindblad
    Day Four
    1:18.451**
    Alpine
    Franco Colapinto
    Day Three
    1:19.150
    Haas
    Oliver Bearman
    Day Three
    1:19.314
    Audi
    Nico Hulkenberg
    Day Three
    1:21:010
    Cadillac
    Sergio Perez
    Day Four
    1:21.024**

    Aston Martin
    Lance Stroll
    Day Four
    1:46.404**

These times really don't tell us a lot yet, as they will continue to tumble at some stage, and of course we can't figure out who is sandbagging and who is running light "glory laps" for the time being. AMR just hit the track today and stopped, so I don't think that is even a representative initial lap.

For now, it looks like Merc is really pounding in a lot of laps.

    Team Number of laps
    Mercedes 501
    Racing Bulls 318
    Ferrari 295
    Haas 196
    Red Bull 187
    Alpine 185
    McLaren 124
    Cadillac 110
    Audi 95
    Aston Martin 4

As for the new regs, plenty of evidence of quite a bit of harvesting, but for now the cars are looking quicker out of the gate than many of us expected.

    Also as far as regs.....

Beam wings are no longer allowed. Apparently Newey had to tell someone to hold his beer........
