Hyundai need to go with the most experienced driver with the Rally1 car. There's no time to learn it and hope to get results at the same time.

Give Sordo the same money they offered Tänak, and we’re good to go. He’s the most reliable driver who isn’t driving now.

Colin Clark appeared on an Estonian evening program via Zoom, where he speculated that Tänak was offered the highest salary ever for a WRC driver. He mentioned that Ogier earned around €14 million for his season with Citroën, so Tänak’s offer would have been even higher. I really doubt that, but what he was quite certain about was that Tänak was offered a lot of money. I’ll link the interview here as well. Hopefully it’s not geo-restricted.
