That comment was a good one from Wheatley, his future in politics would have been bright. Apparently Tänak is not commited enough and leaving the team would be the easier solution for him. This has nothing to do with the fact, that the car is not working properly.

based on that article it seems the option is either Toyota or retirement

continuing with Hyundai seems not an option

Maybe he is happy now because hyundai agreed to pay him a few millions extra next year. Who knows, he went to them in 2020 for the money in the first place.

    Selected events at Hyundai
    Pension
    Toyota
My order of probable outcomes for Ott.
If it were a no brainer (like continuing full time) it would have been announced by now.

i think we can for sure dismiss the retirement

Now to Dirtfish he says this, Asked if we can be confident that he’ll stay at Hyundai, Tänak added: “That’s what the announcement is for, so yeah, we need to wait for that.” While for Estonian media he didnt say anything about Hyundai announcement.

He can be so good at trolling, ill give him that.

The new guy joining Hyundai makes it sound like he could stay...

“Massimo, especially I know him from the past. I used to work with him at M-Sport and he is definitely a very switched on guy and definitely someone our team really needs at this moment. I hope the best from that,” Tanak added.

“This year, on gravel actually we have not been too bad. We have always been competitive, but we have just had some failures here and there, but tarmac has been the weak point that we need to iron out and make it work for next year.”

From this I would say that he stays with Hyundai?

im gonna dream on and still hope its Toyota

I mean, Tänak says the deal is done and the team has to announce it, Hyundai camp says it isnt done and they are still waiting for Tänak to decide.

So either Hyundai camp is also trolling with media or they will also find out on Monday that Tänak is leaving.

I don't know, I'm tired of the speculation, someone just post once he's in Toyota or stays put, their trolling is too much! Weirdest case scenario would be if he said he's taking a year off to fight off Toyota with a Lancia Ypsilon...
