Hello everybody.
Sorry for the offtopic. I have a question.
What is happening when a rally car's homologation expired ? Does the manufacturer continues to provide spare parts to privateers, or not ? and for how long ?
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for the offtopic, again.

Different times and different situation.
In that case Peugeot had wanted Burns for years, whereas Tanak left Toyota who have won 5 Manufacturer titles without him.
Plus Toyota still has 3 drivers going for the 2025 WDC and wont distract any of them by openly discussing contracts with a new driver.

I call this BS. You were precisely talking about timing (quote: "No-one confirms anything at this stage"). And 2001 is not 1980 and the situation in 2001 was exactly the same, three rallies to go and still in the title hunt. Burns wanted to win so bad he was looking for other options (as Tänak might be now). I remembered this by heart because the contract situation was crazy. When announced, he was third in the standings but eventually won the whole thing which got him a bit into trouble because he had a clause in the contract that if he wins, Subaru can keep him. It was eventually settled in the court.
But if 2001 is too old, then Latvala joining Volkswagen in 2013, was announced 17th of October. https://www.autosport.com/wrc/news/v...58393/4458393/
Or Kris Meeke joining Toyota for 2019, announced also 17th of October. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/m...-wrc-deal-2019
