It's just odd that all 3 Hyundais were matching the Toyota's pace and all 3 got multiple punctures on this type of rally, shame it killed a great rally and great fight.
Congrats to Kalle, amazing just amazing!

It's a better result than I feared for Evans at the end of day one. I'd have taken fourth (from second on the road, with Ogier entered) if you offered it to me before the start.

He beat Neuville and Fourmaux, which is what I really want for this season.

And 3 seconds behind Ogier whilst cleaning for him is very respectable. You might (or might not) say Evans did better of the two.

Also good rally for Katsuta on the quiet.

    But Rovanpera... oh boy.

so Ogier and Tänak starting from zero after Ogier announced he will go for the title.

for me those two are the favourites, they have been the class so far this season up to rally finland, yeah they werent here but thats just one event.

remains to be seen if this was a one off from Kalle again like with Canary or he really found something.

Evans will open the road again now and his speed overall hasnt been so good on gravel except finland, his results so far on gravel events have been 6-7, and if you actually put Neuville and Fourmaux in front without punctures then he would have been 6-7 again.

anyway, will be interesting the next two rallies where we will get a lot of answers.

I would not count Evans and Rovanperä off anyway - they both are strong, especially Rovanperä. Every rally is new from setup-wise to work with Hankook, and we never know who figures it out fastest. We should remember what kind of domination in the Canary.
