But they could change it to be Hydrogen powered in future if that's what they want to promote.

I'd be interested to know the difference in power output of the same capacity ICE engine run on petrol compared with hydrogen. If both fuels are allowed in ICE engines in future will we need some form of power equalization between them, like different boost pressures or different restrictor diameters?
