jeeezz. world/euro championships are in holjes this weekend, and today, kevin hansen's car had a 'red light' after qualy 1.
red light normally means problems with the battery (it can be a glitch too, but better be safe). so the car was put in an isolation... u'know... no one wants another burned tent, eh? ehhh? lydden hill??
but thats not the worst. once the red light appears, the driver cant touch the car structure and the floor (outside the car) at the same time, so you gotta kinda jump out of the car... and in a rush because the car can erupt in fire in case is something more serious with the battery.
i didnt knew that. i mean, its obvious now, physics...
but IMAGINE THAT IN RALLYING... you flip your car.... and then the red light comes in.
WTF man. i know PETROL is also dangerous, i know cars have smaller batteries that can cause some problems too. cars burning in fire is something we see every year in the world motorsport, but jeeeez, 'having to jump out of the car without touching both the structure and the ground' sounded horrifying.

No worries - just give them a fire suit with metal threads in the weave.

spare batteries on kevin hansen car for today.
loving the broadcast with andrew coley back. they are getting drivers, spotters, team owners on the booth with andrew. they are all 'happy' and joking and slightly bashing on the electric cars (btw... honestly, im having zero 'problems' watching the electrics today. andrew + non spec electric car models make it easy to watch).
Q3 had andrew briefly mentioning about all the rebuilding of the championship behind the scenes. we may have manufacturer interest already, but they 'cant discuss that at the moment'. but eeeh i dont thing we need manufacturers in rx tbf.

Crazy wet conditions today added to the spectacle and we got brilliant races especially in the finals of Euro RX1 and World RX.
Good to see the ICE Cars making the Top 5 in World RX, but they really suffered off the start.in the wet. I still think the BoP isnt quite right and now the EVs have too much advantage.

Ah just seen this...

Hopefully they'll try and make it fairer after Holjes.

open broadcast, andrew having fun, laughing about everything, fun guest on the booth, crazy chaotic races, youngsters showing loads of talent. this finally felt like home. i think the last time fans felt this was in the 2020 season finale.
the redbull gmbh era was bad, honestly. we have rallyx (also open broadcast and with andrew), which is incredible too, but it just felt right for the first time in almost half a decade. at least imo.
and watching the national class was also great. bakkerud's puma should be the direction they should take. i mean, supercars is the top class, period. ev or ice, gimme both. but the feeder class should really be a 2wd with modern production based cars.
they took touring cars from autocross, just throw them back in rallycross ffs! lol
also loving hearing stuff on these supercars. theres so few of these that you can basically count them.
lukas on an old steve arpin omse fiesta, turpeinen on ex ken block msport, enlund on the car who won holjes in 2019,
you can trace all those cars from some years ago, built by omse, msport, gronholms, hansen, abt-ekstrom, kms.
thats so cool.
glad we are back!

Holjes Magic Weekend + Biblical Rain + Andrew Coley + Bakkerud racing & in studio = Rallycross Heaven !
The second group of WRC2 drivers gained quite a lot of time with the cleaner road. It was harsh on the first guys, especially Romet Jürgenson.
