Ford had a worse time in Portugal 80 when both Mikkola and Vatenen crashed on the same corner barely feet apart

Also Toyota at Acropolis 1992 had Alen and Schwarz crashing in the same corner, with Sainz who crashed few stages earlier.

Even worst : In 1974, locked in a big fight for the WRC with Lancia, Fiat enters 7 (!) 124 Abarth cars for the San Remo Rally (against 3 Lancias) - 4 of them crash on the very first stage ! Only 1 to finish and title lost ...

So it seems it's not a first or worst by a Team in one stage. And at least M-Sport has the excuse of young drivers.

A valid excuse, as their old driver hasn't crashes yet.

Like Tänak said after Portugal, there no guarantee that he will find the same sweet spot with the setup and sad reality is he hasn’t.

Impressive Taka, taking advantage of his road position but Fourmaux coming faster !
