    Is it really the cost, or just the fact that there's limited benefit from building extra chassis at this point in the homologation cycle?

    Seems there's no shortage of people with the money to rent...

    & yet €345,000 for a pumped up Rally2 car for 2027? Even the then criticised DS3 & Fiesta were €500,000 and I don’t remember anyone complaining that was too expensive. To me it seems manufacturers in general just aren’t keen spending their time & money on ICE motorsport when they themselves don’t know what will be the future in 2030 & beyond.

    More this and in general what Millener mentioned. Even if a Rally1 would be just 100000€ they wouldn't build up an additional car if there is no relevant businesses case for it.
