I suggest we give hime time. Monte in these conditions, night and starting position is the worst situation one new-comer can start his WRC carrier. I am sure he will progress through the rally and also through the season. I guess McErlean has only one goal at the moment and it is to gain mileage and reach the finish.

To be slower in Rally1 car than others in Rally2 is not a boost for your ego, but his job is to ignore this fact at the moment.

He did not have any results to boost expectations of him to be a top 5 rally1 driver out of the blue. I think everything is logical at the moment.
