Again I am amazed why Hyundai chose Mikkelsen for this rally.

I think the idea, tarmac "specialist", is that of the two (Mikkelsen and Lappi") he is the driver with more positive experience on this surface. So if you should pick rallies this makes more sense. But Mikkelsen is very slow when both conditions and feeling with the car are poor. I hope we will see more postive pace later, here he had an overshoot.

Hmm. Lots of mess on the road in WRC2. Rossel was good, and Greensmith looked good for a guy who thought he had a puncture, but Gryazin went like a rocket.
Lots of tyre choices in play, which won't unwind until the end of the loop.
Pajari looking more committed than he did on the tarmac at Monte (not driving for points in either).
Given the way the field has spread out, Evans not doing too badly compared to Neuville.
It was funny when Ingrassia said that he thought the current WRC1 hybrids are too different from WRC2 for new drivers to get the hang of them, and that he politely disagreed with Thierry Neuville about that, and then a few seconds later we had the footage of Mikkelsen overshooting the corner.Last edited by Morte66; 19th April 2024 at 08:05.

If there is no other option, they will drive slower cars. And I think that both of them will not retire unless they will have to or there will be no other option or when they will not be competitive...
