I think for Lappi personally, when it comes to getting a contract renewal and maybe some additional drives the following year, "winner of Rally Finland" will count.
The Saturday/Sunday WDC points don't matter to Lappi.
Are his Sunday times important to Hyundai's WCC points, since Tanak/Neuville both reset and he goes back to being their third driver?Last edited by Morte66; 18th February 2024 at 07:24.

The real question is "will it stop people cruising to the power stage, who would have done so under the old rules?"

This event will teach us a thing or two about the psychological impact of the new points system.
Kalle has all to gain for the team and can adopt a win-or- nothing approach. Hyundai drivers are treading a thin line between drivers points and manufacturer benefit
