    FOM reject Andretti bid

It's pathetic really. Saying they wouldn't add any prestige to the sport.

You're right about it being sad that they haven't been allowed in , but don't blame that name on the FIA .
Blame the idiots that thought it would be a good idea to accept money for such a name .
But , ( and this is a big "but" ) not to excuse the tragic name , it does read somewhat better if it is shortened to VCARB , which I suspect was the idea they were chasing .

It looks bad on the constructors , as it looks to all that they are afraid of the competition .
It looks bad on Andretti , because they somehow weren't good enough .
It looks bad on the FIA , as they rubber stamped a failed bid .

    It just looks bad .
It just looks ugly , nasty , money soaked bad .

I guess , though , that the use of " Visa Cash App RB " does illustrate pretty accurately how ugly , nasty , money soaked bad the whole bunch of them are .

And , that really is pathetic .

I think that all parties will regret banning Andretti. It'll take a couple years, but they will wish they had let them in.

Buying Haas would be best for everyone, including Haas. But Gene has given no inclination of wanting to sell. But he also has no ambition for the team either.

It seems likely that Andretti is going to sue F1. It would be interesting to see if they get any success with it.

It's looking more and more like the powers that be want to just try to force Andretti to buy and existing team. And the reality is, they are overvalued.... nobody wants to buy any team not up to par and overpriced.

Being Liberty is a US based company, it could come to legal matters. I don't think anyone wants that, but it doesn't seem like Andretti will back down without a fight either.

Rep. Jim Jordan is demanding a series of documents and communications from Formula 1's president and its U.S.-based owner, Liberty Media, about the decision regarding Andretti.

The chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee is launching an investigation into Formula 1 and its U.S. owner, Liberty Media, to demand answers about the sport's decision to deny Andretti Global a spot on the grid.

The deadline for F1 to respond was May 21, when F1 was requested for comment, they declined. The U.S. Senate has asked the FTC to look into it now. Probably more movement will occur once summer break is over. Andretti has hire two Lobbyist.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem offered advice to Andretti

I would advise [Andretti-Cadillac] to go and buy another team, not to come as the eleventh team. I feel that some teams need to be refreshed. What is better? To have eleven teams as a number or ten and they are strong? I still believe we should have more teams but not any teams. The right teams.

This is a very ugly business really. I fail to see why they are bent on restricting the grid to ten teams only.

Haas has reduced from 4 cars to 1 in NASCAR. Evidently, Gene Haas has also been suffering from some type of illness for much of 2023.
