Was at the hairpin bend before the uphill straight in Cropton that features in the opening seconds of this video and the noise of the Stratos travelled all the way back down through the trees. It really was a privilege to hear it. Agree with you Eddie about the Citroen as both it and the Pug 208 T16 have a much angrier exhaust note than the Fords and SkodasLast edited by Sal yet again; 6th November 2023 at 14:52.

The Citroens always did, especially from the Xsara WRC, and C4 WRC - a raspy, noisy sound. Whereas the Fords, whether Focus, or Fiesta were far more muted.
Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???
