I've only now caught up to the happenings... I suppose today doesn't matter so much, but I think tomorrow the actual gaps will be made.
As for Tanak's comments I think they were 100% a dig at MSport. As Tanak comments go I think they were "below average" in sharpness he said way worse stuff about Hyundai for example. I think he didn't have a good experience this year. Remember when he signed? He shook hands and said he went there "to win", but then the only improvement they made to the car was diffs and the car fell apart several times, I think he has the right to be pissed off.
Anyway, to me this seems it could be a "Neuville style" rally and I expected his closest oponent to be Ogier because Evans and Rovanpera would keep something in reserve due to the championship implications, but let's see, there could be surprises!

That's never been his style. He always drives to his best safe pace and you rarely hear him say he was pushing or was taking risks.
Whenever he does it becomes just 'over-driving' and invariably leads to mistakes. He looked more aggressive to me on SD and the opening stages and, surprise- surprise, he lost time.

It is more complex. There were issues with plates during scrutineering. More than 10 cars didnt passes scrutineering because of same issue. Luckily for them there was long time between scrutineering and start of rally, so they had time to manage it. You can see for example few new french plates which were managed during one day. So all of them were able to start. But some of them didnt have correct valid plates and police plus german customs checked the cars on czech-german border during their return back to Germany.
But this is what I am saying for long time - lot of plates on rally cars are not valid and competitors are lucky that nobody is really checking it on the events. This issue was only time bomb...
