He has the speed, but he never had the tactical ability to pick a good team. Plus he was up against what may be the best rally driver ever, ogier.

None of those you mentioned is not the main issue with Neuville. He has no consistency. Once he is in a fight he makes stupid mistakes or crashes.

Once he is in a fight? He was in a tight rally-long battle in Sweden and Mexico, beating Rovanpera and Evans without mistakes. The majority of his mistakes are when he's not in a close battle, not pushing 100%... some drivers seem to make more mistakes in those situations, same for Lappi, who admitted it himself in Mexico. Still acamedic for both of them, since they're driving a Hyundai.
