How so? TBH it seems the other way round. The ICE part is the one causing trouble and failing and using EV tech is much more reliable (no issues with watersplashes for example).

1/1 Unfortunately we have to retire for the day. Very close end to the SS9 finish, there was a water splash and after driving through it, the car stalled and we faced some electrical issues, which were something that we couldn’t fix on the road section.
2/2 The team will bring the car back to the service and will take a closer look and hopefully we are able to continue tomorrow.#8 Ott Tänak - Martin Järveoja #8

Even I can see that, as there's no obligation to enter WRC and do all the rallies. FIA are looking for more WRC manufs/constructor/team entrants, so it's obvious what they will have to do to Rally2....
WRC mainclass from 2027
