Not strange. Azores organizers need be on news to get sponsors to next years. Without ERC (and Portugal national) it is the right thing to do, pay!

There will be more big names on Azores. And for sure not because of TER, but because it is Azores. And when they dont need to pay money to promoter and FIA, they can pay them to the drivers...
