Fun fact from Estonian media.
IF Tänak should go to Toyota, then it will be the first time since 1985 for 627 rallies completed in WRC total to have 3 World champions competing together in the same team
In 1985 it was Walter Röhrl, Hannu Mikkola and Stig Blomqvist all in Audis

Question for you european fellas:
Ive been noticing that in america, people "have fun" and "compete" in side by side / lightweight vehicules A LOT. Its like a mix of enduro & rally. I understand that americans are used to POST everything on YouTube and social media, theres A LOT OF redbull and monster sponsoring and broadcasting these events, theres the american enterteinment mindset behind the "having fun while competing"...
(The moto scene is also big in this american scenario, with motocross, enduro, pitbikes, flat track...)
But I couldnt stop thinking about "WHAT DO EUROPEANS DO in this sense? Like, what people race "for fun" in europe?

Rallies. You can find plenty of amateur drivers in entry lists with relatively cheap old Saxo, Clio and Peugeot, in for example France and Italy, as well as old Volvo in Northern Europe. There's a huge amount of short national and regional rallies, as well as rallysprints.
Hillclimbs also. Very big entry lists at times, and nobody can stop you from running an old Peugeot 106.
As for lightweight veichles, you can find more and more of them in rally raids and bajas, in or around Europe.

Also Autocross and Slaloms for which you don't even need a license or a car with a cage.

Or Autograss, off-circuit racing.

But this car is competing only on closed circuit. It never goes on normal roads.
