Be interesting to see what the rulebook and the Rallysafe system dictate with respect to Neuville driving past Solberg's car.

Quote from FIA regulations pertaining to incident on special stage:

53.3.2 Any crew which has the red “SOS” sign displayed to them, or which sees a car which has suffered an accident and the OK sign is not shown, shall immediately and without exception stop to render assistance. All following cars shall also stop. The second car at the scene shall proceed to inform the next radio point. Subsequent cars shall leave a clear route for emergency vehicles. All crews stopping under this procedure will be allocated a time in line with Art. 52.

53.3.5 Any crew which is able but fails to comply with any of the above rules will be reported by the Clerk of the Course to the Stewards.

does this still apply with the SOS system they carry in the car? Do upcoming drivers know if someone has crashed and pushed te OK/SOS button?

If Solberg had pressed the OK button and Thierry didn't get a warning signal, is that the same as displaying an OK sign? But then if fire trucks were needed.... ? Maybe the fire was delayed.

i'd be very surprised in case of a penalty for this. that's no regional rally. they have in car radio for emergency and on board flag sistem for that situation. it's totally probable that solberg pushed the ok button even before getting out of the car to check and see the fire, so no need to look for signs. also marshall were at spot with no sign of slowing down on requesting for help, so...
everything was managed by marshalls and clercks, stopping the race and sending fire truck. nowadays, it's normal ( and way better) use radio com to the drivers rather than stop them randomly by hand signs. we saw that kind of accident lots of time, without that much fuss.
seems that there's people really on edge!!!

Yes, it applies. OK/SOS-button is one-way info to rally HQ, that information is not passed on to other competitors. Thus, even after activating buttton, crew of crashed car still must show OK/SOS signs to other competitors.

I believe the ok button goes back to rally control. And there's no radio contact as far as I know while car is live in the stage. So for a competitor to pass another with no ok board displayed and also a fire. Is a big deal. The fact he never lifted doesn't bode well for him either. If it had been on a section where there was no Marshall evident it would have been a lot worse for him. The competitors are supposed to look out for each other in these instances. And the fact he could of stopped and helped extinguish the fire. Also has to be factored in.

in the video used as a reference, you can easily see a marshall on the right side, near the camera, taking pictures on the phone. that's clearly a sign that the situation is under control ( or supposed so). drivers seeing marshall behave like this will never stop to check on other competitors, because marshall's behavior is basically saing "all ok"...

Other crews do get warnings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDWseIQE42U&t=398s
