What could have been: When a rally king's Le Mans debut was scuppered
Carlos Sainz is a name synonymous with rallying, the Spaniard etching his name into the history books as a double World Rally champion and currently gunning for a fourth Dakar win with Audi. Had it not been for a date change, he may well have added a further bit of history to his credit at the Le Mans 24 Hours...

It's only Day 1 of Dakar, but surprisingly WRC drivers occupy the first three places; namely Al-Attiyah, Loeb and Prokop! Sadly, Carlos got lost and is currently 37th. https://live.worldrallyraidchampions...-1/asod/ukie/m
Edit: In the Prototype Class last minute substitute Dakar rookie Mikkelsen has been praised for .. surviving the first day and not running last!Last edited by Rally Hokkaido; 2nd January 2022 at 13:32.

Would be nice to get drivers that drove multiple 2017reg cars do a comparison of how they were to drive compared with each other:
Candidates to ask during an interview:
Ogier - Polo, Fiesta, C3, Yaris (didn't drive i20)
Mikkelsen - Polo, Fiesta (tests on both surf.), C3, i20 ( no Yaris)
Tanak - Fiesta, Yaris, i20 ( no C3 and Polo)

Is there an actual "rally sprint" championshop with R5s? Or maybe "what is the biggest one" out there?

They don't have to give up any markets. They just have to contribute something by turning up to WRC. They don't have to win or beat TGR to get anything, I don't propose anything conditional on...
