Going off the track and gaining a place is a 5 second penalty.
Hamilton cut the corner, gained a place but did not get a penalty.
Thus, the rules were not followed.
I can agree with the decision not to give a penalty, but it was once again "à la tête du client" stewarding. But it's been like that all year now.
Max torpedo'd in and pushed him wide. When you overtake the rules require you give a car's width. Max didn't give Hamilton a cars width, and forced him to go wide. He was entitled to keep the place. You can't force a car off the track and expect to gain a position.
This also has to be considered, that Toyota would like to be also competitive in Rally2. Without Solberg there isn't currently anyone driving Toyota Rally2, who could be able to drive for the title.
As I remember, Neuville had engine change during this season and they said it was an already used engine, so Hyundai could change it.
