Looks to me that the Spanish Suzuki team has made a good car and habe good drivers.
That combo makes the car competitive!

Suzuki Iberica invest a lot. That's why their cars are better than the same specs. N5 was better than N5 from RMC too.
And of course, Pardo and Vinyes are good drivers.

That's a nice story - this French guy is a designer, an enginner, a driver and a mechanic in one person

In Finland the N5 cars are competing in the SM2 class, a class for N4 cars or similar. Therefore the original N5 cars have been downgraded by a 33 mm restrictor and 80 kg more weight. So it’s not a surprise that Esapekka couldn’t haul higher than seventh leaving behind many SM1 cars (R5/Rally 2 or similar cars).
Esapekka was 0,74 sec/km slower compared to the winner but the second in the SM2 class was 1,57 sec/km compared to the winner. I don’t know what the difference would have been if a “Esapekka driver” had driven a R5/Rally2 car.“Don’t eat the yellow snow” Frank Zappa

Teemu Asunmaa has tested Lithuanian build Skoda R4 a lot on gravel, pity that tests on tarmac were cut short. Team from Lithuania has many pics and videos on their facebook page:

Believe me, it will cost way more as it is capped at. That's why no one stand in line for those cars and everyone stands in line for Rally2 cars. I don't like it either, but the reality sucks. FIA...
