First round of 2021 in the history books, what did we all think?

For the most part I thought the coverage was pretty decent. Solid camera work and presentation (aside from the absence of tyre allocation graphics, hope they bring that back), weakest points had to be the feed dropping out for the first World semi and some inconsistencies from the commentary team(s). I hope that becomes less of an issue as the new (to rallycross) commentators learn the sport and drivers.

I didn't get to watch all of the Friday races, but didn't see Neil Cole in any of the coverage I watched so that was an added bonus.

Disappointed for Johan. That win should have been his and, although the rules were clearly broken, shame to see him put on the back foot through no fault of his own... that aside he looks to have some good speed in the Audi already. Gutted for Gronholm as well, was looking forward to seeing him in the final, definitely not the start to the Championship he wanted. Good showing from Abbring, despite (predictiably) a plethora of car issues.

Not to sure on the noise, but actually some good action from RX2e.

The opening 2021 World RX race was one for the hardcore fans - going behind a paywall isn't good.

The competitive cars and drivers present are now in poorer numbers than the recent past so it has already lost a lot. I guess only a couple of the heats were really strong.

I only got to see the SF's & Final live as they are on my BT Sport (& Red Bull TV) and they were pretty good fun. Coverage seemed ok but the drone camera's somehow dont capture the action like the traditional track-side ones. Comms were ok but nowhere near as good as Andrew Coley, but then who would be ?

I know people like to complain and everybody wants everything to be free nowadays but HATS OFF to redbull for literally having semis and finals "live" and "free" on the RedBullTV. You can watch it here:

I also love how RedBullTV puts daily highlights for WRC for free and I hope fia erc will get at least the same kind of coverage. It will be great for fans like me that are not from europe (kinda impossible to watch eurosport). I say great job GmbH!
