56. Renties Ypres Rally Belgium 2021

20 Stages (including Night Time ones) accumulating to 310.92kms of competitive action.
Fingers crossed we get all 20 stages (in their entirety).

The start of the latest stage is 10 minutes before sunset and it's a 5 minute-long stage. It will be dark probably only for Rally2, 3 and later (of course it depends on the cloud cover as well).

Yes I looked it up and was a bit disappointed, for now though, I really hope it will run smoothly and go straight ahead with no stages being cancelled before or during the event.

I'm always confused with how long days are there because while here in Prague we have the same time zone it's 1000 km to the east

Long enough for the event to have barely one night stage

If it will switch to it's usual slot of Mid-June, then, even longer as the sun sets over there after 10PM.

If fans are allowed under ongoing covid restrictions it will be interesting how the organisers go about accommodating them. From my visits in the ERC days the amount of red and white tape was amazing and lead to spectators playing cat and mouse with the helicopter to try and get a decent view! With the start in the centre of town it has the potential to look great on tv/online but that may be spoilt by acres of taped off no stand zones.

I don't know when you were there but during my visits between 2010 and 2019 the safety level kept relaxing from year to year and I dare to say it was quite free in my last edition.

First we'll have to see if this event is going to take place... The organizers are doing what they can, obviously. But so far all big events are cancelled this summer, and I only see the event happening if (a lot of) spectators are allowed. The Ypres Rally relies on entry tickets to pay it's rally, not on government funding like many others.
