I'd say on Canarias there were some small indications that Michelin wets might be slightly better when it was very wet, while Pirelli wets were better when it was damp. But temperatures were different and tarmac is also different.

As for the wet tyres wearing out, remember that this rally has less kilometres than on a normal rally. Basically Friday is half the normal length and Sunday would be on the short end compared to normal rally Sundays. It's also interesting that there's services between every Monza stage, so the tyres can really be optimized.
There is still a limit in wrc sporting regulations (15.1) for max 7 tire changes during the course of the rally. With 13? service/flexi service that would mean changing only every other service.
