Sorry to be boring, but FIA thinks it's not safe to put cameras on the helmets, or even on the seats.
This camera angle, attached to the seat, is not allowed anymore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMIKuS2Bz1k
Also if you think the helmet camera would be streamed online, it means there would have to be a cable attached to it (not just recording on a memory card) which would be another safety issue if the driver has to exit the car quickly.

If the FIA see the video, you'd like to think that someone will see that it can possibly do a lot of good for the sport and look at solutions. The cams haven't been great recently and it could be a boost for viewing figures.
The tweet from Rovanpera has gained a pleasant amount of comments from a lot of motorsport journals, who, whilst clearly aware of rallying, don't seem to say much about it usually.
Regarding exit time from the car - surely it wouldn't take any longer if the cable is located next to the intercom cable?

It should be one cable in that case. Thought there would be development cost but F1 has had helmet cams for some time (and I haven't followed that series for years now). So just a question of having such helmet for rallying available with good enough image quality.
Regarding recording, the recorder does not need to be part of the helmet. There are plenty of examples where the lens/sensor unit is separate from the media.Never stop dreaming because one day it might happen.

As much as I like those helmet cams in rally cars I also know in general it's dangerous in case of accident and FIA will never allow it...

Obviously, but it still needs a cable from the lens to the recording media / transmitter for live stream. Like said, it could be modified to use the same cable for the camera and intercom, but it would require all helmets to be prepared for the camera and more possibilities for the intercom to fail during the stage.
