Strange to be disqualified du to a fuel sample. The only reason could be that they have driven the car with non Penta fuel, and that could be the issue that this sample was different.
If the bottle was leaking, have they now checked bottle number 2, to make sure that the result was not due to evaporation from bottle 1?
