Proton Iriz R5 to make mainland Europe debut in Belgium.

MEM pilot Ollie Mellors has lodged an entry for August's Monteberg Rally Sprint, a great shakedown for the BRC Ypres Rally which is now scheduled for October.

Liam Egan also makes the trip in his Iriz R5 !

What’s wrong with the Mk II Fiesta? No matter who’s driving it, it seems the car can't match its rivals pace. Is it an engine or a chassis problem? Will MSport homologate Jokers any time soon?

Are we drawing that conclusion from Formaux's brief performance in Roma?

I know it didn't have a great start last year either but i wouldn't be panicking for that reason above alone.

Nope, the car has been underperforming in most rally series. Apart Greensmith lucky win in Turkey or Campedelli's P2 in Rome, do you remember any other top scores from a Mk II Fiesta?

Campedelli finished 2nd in the Mk2 Fiesta R5 in Rome last year.

If he was driving this year and was way behind, then we might say there's a big problem...

No, i don't.. i just wondered why this topic was raised now like there was some great expectation on Formaux.

IIRC correctly Campedelli actually wasn't that fast here last year but benefited from some retirements/problems ahead?

Weird thing is MSport from the very start have been raving about it but little actual evidence to support it yet. Some guys here also insist the engine is not the problem..

You’re right, Campedelli’s P2 at Rome was also a bit lucky, althought he managed to show top speed on other CIR events.

Anyway, the car was homologated more than one year ago (July 1, 2019) so it makes sense to wonder how MSport is trying to improve it, once continuing to blame the drivers for the lack of results (Suninen, Camilli, Paddon and now Fourmaux) will hardly make it faster.

Campedelli had eight Top 3 times at Rally di Roma last year, in what was his and the cars debut together.

The big disappointment with Fourmaux was he couldnt stay on the road to show anything this year.

Until I see the Fiesta R5 Mk2 in the hands of a top driver more often I wont write it off yet.

MSport should send Lappi to Liepaja so we can get a definitive answer.
