Malaysian car manufacturer Proton will return to Britain’s premier rallying series with Ollie Mellors contesting the BRC in a Proton Iriz R5.

I hope that would lead to more factory teams dabbling in the BRC... but I know that won’t happen. If next year the championship had more forest rounds I’d like to see Kris Meeke develop the rumoured Yaris Rally2 for TMR over here!

Factory teams don't care about such Championships. National importers they do. Look at Belgium. Citroën Belux, Skoda Be, Hyundai Belux are all investing..!

Glad to finally have an entry pretty much as good as last year. Not great but still decent enough to see some good battles.

Only thing and logical I can think about is that he is also doing development job for Rally2 car. Being also in Rally1 to get a feeling what could be transfered from that car to that which will be...
