The big difference now is the number of established WRC driver's without a seat.

If some of them can get together and get the money from sponsors for just a year in the C3's, they can stay in the eyes of the existing teams.

With the new car Regs coming it will only be a short-term spend. I really hope Citroen will do a deal to see these cars again.

Ok fine, thats it then let's just give up... leave the C3 WRCs going to waste and a bunch of driver's sitting at home. Great idea.

 Mads Ostberg
It's a sad day for @CitroenRacing, WRC and for us. It will be difficult to find a seat with one less team at the end of the year, but I won't give up! I'm not done with WRC and I hope WRC isn't done with me. I'll do anything required to get back in a rally car again! #nevergiveup ! https://t.co/zibJQ68f58

C3 Had a lot of bad publicity during last season. Why should anyone rent/buy something that has proven to be flawed? Privateer drivers count every penny and renting/buying a car from msport is much safer.
But all that is my opinion. Conclusion is that IF i had the money and could sponsor someone , i would not let him drive c3.

In the end, I bet Mads ends up running a team with C3's and keep complaining about bad setups

Citroen says its C3 World Rally Car is available to be bought or hired for next season, after the manufacturer withdrew its works' team following the departure of Sebastien Ogier for 2020.

They also said they could rent out cars for 2019, and there was talk about PH Sport running them.
We all saw how many drivers did that.

In a different world with a few different management decisions made we could be looking ahead to 2020 with Citroen fielding a star studded team comprising Loeb, Ogier & Lappi. 2 rally gods and a Finn who used to be described as faster than god. https://twitter.com/KiwiWRCfan adding a fans perspective to Twitter

I don't think Lappi can sign Hyundai , Lappi had been agreed to work with Skoda for developing cars in 2026
