Yes, if Mikkelsen would use the WRC car to test the Pirelli tyres, that would use their allowed testing days. And conversely, the R5 testing isn't limited (except for a couple of weeks in the country where the next event is run in)
Anyway, would you consider possible that Pirelli would supply the tyres for Hyundai WRC team in 2020? The control tyre rule is coming in 2021, maybe they want to compete with Michelin for that role?
Or is this testing for an effort to take part in the WRC2 championship, to be maybe sponsored by Pirelli?

Pirelli has released new soft and super soft compounds for R5 cars in the last two gravel rounds. Maybe another new tyre for tarmac ?

There is still no change to homologations list (since 2/8). Watch it before the rally as it usually is published a few days before the rally. (I guess it needs to be updated before scrutineering). That said even if there are changes it doesn't mean team will use them. Before Finland Citroen homologated engine changes but first used them in Germany.

Does this prohibit new aero too?
I’m not arguing, but this WRC article indicates they were testing it with a view to using it in Spain:

I well remember WRC after 2008-2009, when both Subaru and Suzuki pulled off, but eventually with the 1600 WRC cars it recovered very well. It was the same story, high costs, low return of...
