    an example hypothetical...

if Lappi was 1st or 2nd and he had used the same route as the rest, would Ogier asked for penalties that would ''change positions''?

Well it's Ogier, he will do everything "within" the rules to get some advantage. Last year at Msport he went as far as forcing FIA to change the rules as you all remember. He is a magnificent driver, but also a bit of an *hole.

You need to see the roadbook box. If there is a clear order how to drive this passage than thats the only correct way. Thats the regulations, no matter who benefits or gets penalized.

i think citroen we careful not to say ' you must go around bridge' ...all they said in autosport.com was that the right hand way was baricaded off on recce.... well on the 1st pass it wasnt... no penalty..

"The rule is very clear: we have to follow the road book. And the road book is very clear: there is a barrier and you go [on the left].

"During the recce the gate [on the right] was closed and there was also a barrier - we know this because we checked from the recce video.

Update on car #8 of @OttTanak: The team is yet to recover the car and speak to the crew, but we know that battery charge was decreasing before the stage. Our working assumption is that it is alternator or battery related.

Latvala retired for the same reason in germany last year and i think he had the alternator problem also on some other rally last year
Can't remember if it was alternator related but the Yaris' electricals also failed Latvala in Finland 2017 when he retired out of the lead.

They said it was engine management unit failure then.

also... budar says.. "It's not our job to check. We have seen on some videos two different lines, so it's now for the FIA or somebody to check what is the proper line to be followed."
so they dont know if anyone went right or left... they only seen tyre marks?
but ogier at stage end was adament, that the order will change...
so, if the videos are not online... how does ogier know that the order will change? how does me know if nevuille, mikkelsen or meeke.. went right?
has budar some inside information? and how did he get it?

    it gets even better...

Kaj Lindström sayin the problem on SS13 wasnt alternator related, there was a loss of power for Tänak because the valves didnt open after watersplash and the engine didnt get enough air.
