Shakedown went ok but for sure this is going to be a tough challenge with all the rain on these soft roads. We recced Friday stages on Tuesday and it’s rained a lot since then.

According to this article Kajto was saving tyres. I don't know if it is true, because how much can you damage your tyres on a 4-km stage? But maybe there is some truth to it, because it is not the first time when Kajto drives shakedown only once and doesn't push at all:
