you guys are too harsh on Tidemand...Monte is the hardest rally on calendar, his first kilometres with these beast of a car, what did you expect?
For example Tänak was 8th on his first outing in Monte and behind such a guy called Pierre Campana. Neuville retired.
Sweden is a right place to judge him.Last edited by EstWRC; 26th January 2019 at 12:35.

Tidemand is going ok, Sweden is where he should be judged. But as I wrote before I really hope he has more detailed plans for his future than "do 2 rounds and hope for sponsors".
Actually I don't think any driver here is doing significantly worse than expected in terms of pace, tire choices taken into account. Maybe Evans was.
Loeb might be doing worse than some expected relative to Neuville but quite a bit was due to the tirechoice on thrusday and in stagetimes he, Mikkelsen and Latvala were pretty much on exactly the same pace.
Lappi hard to judge, was good on thursday but then on wrong tires on friday morning, retirement due to a hit in cut and now engine.

Disappointing that the coverage format is so rigid that they don't show any cars going over the top of the Col on this stage.
I wish they had more freedom to cut between what is interesting vs showing the first and final km for each car. Maybe to use split screen or picture in picture could be an answer.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

Tänaks gamble not paying off so much on this one. Loeb now taking back time from him.
