Studs hamper you for whole stage (+the clear parts of the other stages) whereas slicks are slower only on icy parts. Stages are not of equal distance either, so longer dry stage vs shorter icy matters more. Number and severity of the corners and uphill or downhill as on straights difference is small. And so on.

We will see the next one now, if we take by morning then Ogier, Tänak, Meeke, Loeb should be very fast. Latvala and other stud guys will lose a lot. Remember in the morning Neuville and Loeb were 11 secs faster than everybody else
