Originally they wanted Great Orme to be the power stage. However, FIA refused because an all-tarmac semi-super-special is not representative of the rally and not fitting for a power stage. Meanwhile, local funding was agreed by getting the Great Orme scenery on TV broadcasts. Thus a compromise was made to have an earlier stage as the power stage and Great Orme as a televised final stage. Well, why is Gwydir 1 power stage and not Gwydir 2? I suppose the reason is that the TV crews need more time in between to move from Gwydir to Great Orme.

I know it's hard but if you try to see WRC27 as a very specific form of WRCar for the year 2027 and onwards, it might be simpler to understand.
