I think the results proved he didn't need a proper test, as he won Barborka by a big margin (nearly 2,5s/km quicker than 2nd). The "test" was probably just to get a feel of the car, take some promo-photos and make a video.

And all Barborka rally is basically slalom course, so normal stage won't be any better for get know car.

To me, Pirelli being back smells of Bertelli doing at least a few rounds in the current-spec M-Sport Fiesta.

If anything he'll be in a fourth car. He just doesn't make the cut. Neither does Camilli. I think Østberg and Suninen will share the third car. Also, isn't a switch to Pirelli too much of a risk for any of the manufacturers? If they are even slightly off the pace of Michelin that's that for both championships.

I don't think Pirelli even have the full range of tyre options compared to Michelin.

Bertelli does not need M-Sport and even less does M-Sport need Bertelli. His drives are not related to the line-up of the manufacturer's points scoring team of M-Sport.
