I’m not terribly simplifying mate, just firmly stating that Michel, or any other rally driver, shouldn’t be penalized for this kind of incidents, whatever the regs say.
Btw, when marshals can’t move bad placed spectators from a notorious dangerous spot (like this one, once the tapes), the normal procedure is to inform rally officials and those will decide if the stage must be delayed, stopped or continue as programmed; they are responsible for the chosen option.Rally addict since 1982

It's not about who we should blame, it's about rules - if it said stop - you should stop, and if you don't follow rules you get penalty - simple as that.

If anyone is still interested, Michel won SS7 and Salanon SS8. Loeb now leading by just 1.4s!

about ss 9 seems that doesn't suit 2wd cars,Dumas with Porsche +50 sec
at 14km stages was about 20 sec slower from leader,so 50 sec from leader at ss 9 are a lot.

The problem is that they don't make the decision soon enough, or even have it in the plan before the race. The guy behind who's just come out on fresh tyres & is 2 seconds a lap faster needs the call...
