The MSA has no backbone to fight the forest commission or any other unelected bureaucrat who wants to get rid of rallying. It's managed decline, like everything else in Europe.
The MSA are just go-along get-along goo with no fight in them. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I won't be.
There's the main problem with British Rallying....the MSA.
The first article was after a rumour and before Hyundai contacted Lappi.
And he's not chasing them for a drive, just listening to see what they offer. Plus he is only interested in a part-time...
Of course it will all follow that path. According to wikipedia for Rally2 cars the homolgations expire:
-both Fiesta Rally2 and R5 (2026)
-i20 Rally2 (2028)
-i20 R5 (2027)
-C3 Rally2 (2030)
-208...
I wouldn't expect a factory-backed Rally2 team in ERC. That will be in WRC2 where their big effort is being made to win the Title for maximum publicity.
According to Dirstfish there could be around 100 pre-orders for the Ypsilon Rally2 :eek: :confused:
They still mention Andrea Mabellini as possible in ERC 2026 with Lancia...
