Yes, he replaces Princen who will do the championship with a Fabia R5, as that car is faster.
For the title, it should be a battle between Princen, Verschueren (with the faster Fabia R5) and Abbring with the Peugeot. Abbring could be faster, but reliability from both him and the car could be an issue. Not all drivers have announced there plan though, could be that an other title contender (like Dilley maybe) will skip Haspengouw and start from Round 2.

Good news for the BRC about Abbring ... hope it's a good battle this year now without Loix domination.

Yes, good luck to Kevin Abbring. Let's hope he will have more luck with his Peugeot than he had in the ERC e few years ago. Interesting fact is that his co-driver will be Pieter Tsjoen - 8-time Belgian rally champion as a driver

It was Tsjoen's DS3 that Abbring destroyed the other year, right? Either way, good to know that Princen stays in the championship too; looking forward to seeing this field come Ypres-time.

Speedwise the 208 and DS3 is also not at the top. That did Cherain prove when he switched to a Fabia R5 he was quite a lot faster with that car.

Anyone know if this stream will be archived anywhere? Got to go out but would love to check it out later if possible.

Possibly on that website, but better to look for fan videos on YT. They are always miles better with pure sound and no commentator talking non-stop !
Not that many good videos yet but this is about the best so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B_J9ur1dCA .. great sound !Last edited by Fast Eddie WRC; 18th February 2017 at 21:15.
I well remember WRC after 2008-2009, when both Subaru and Suzuki pulled off, but eventually with the 1600 WRC cars it recovered very well. It was the same story, high costs, low return of...
