AFAIK C4 was the only WRC car with uneven torque split where more torque went to the rear axle (on asphalt only I think).
Do you know which kind of centre diff they had? As far as I understand the diff should have the ability to split the input torque despite the grip at front or rear. An open differential which clutch pack lock the front or rear together more or less don’t do that.
