This year our national championship (CNR) will have, probably, the best ever top field!
Confirmed:
José Pedro Fontes* - DS3 R5
Pedro Meireles* – Fabia R5
Fernando Peres* – Fiesta R5
Miguel Barbosa**- Fabia R5
Carlos Vieira***- DS3 R5
Carlos Martins – DS3 R5
Diogo Salvi – Fiesta R5
Joaquim Alves – Fabia S2000
Manuel Castro - Fabia S2000
Yet to confirm:
Bruno Magalhães* – 208 T16
Ricardo Moura* - Fiesta R5
Adruzilo Lopes* - Fiesta R5
João Barros – Fiesta R5
Elias Barros – Fiesta R5
Mário Barbosa**** – Fiesta R5
Ricardo Teodósio – Fiesta R5
Miguel Campos* – Fiesta R5 or 208 T16
João Correia - Fabia S2000
Fontes and Meireles have Citroen and Skoda financial backup, but there’s no in-house importer team. Magalhães is trying to do ERC, but Peugeot’s importer (his main sponsor) may choose CNR instead. Some of the above unconfirmed drivers already have the car but their rally program is still unknown.
On the less bright side, we’ll might have fewer drivers in 2wd cars than in top 4wd cars...entry lists for CNR rounds may get short, but no doubt there’s gonna be lots of quality on them!

Thanks André! I've also added today's news about the possible return of João Correia in a S2000 Fabia. And let's see what driver/car will be run by Veloso Motorsport (a GT or another R5?). It's going to be hard wait till March!

Veloso should be Manuel Castro and maybe Pascoal.
João Correia's Fabia still unknown but maybe it is not so far...

Really hope they're going for a special series about CNR championship, with specific and detailed reports (doing the same for CNV and CNTT).
If the option is going to be those mixed motorsport "FPAK Magazine" tv shows they used to broadcast at RTP, it’ll be a sad waste of time and money.Rally addict since 1982
