OK, I was just wondering that they made a mistake in day coverage again.,. because this stage was clear without snow) at the beginning (it was just wet and mud when he lost sumpguard) and when he had this impact, coming back on the road, it was snowy, the second part of the stage.

So you think an organizer can assume that every spectator will take care of his own safety, that there are no people without knowledge, people who are just stupid, people who are drunk etc.? In France spectating a rally is for free, which makes it much more accessible and interesting for locals, it's not like in WRGB where local people who are not very interested are kept away by huge entry fees. You have to keep in mind that most of the people who watch a rally cannot estimate the danger so well, a lot of occasional and new spectators. So yes, when an accident happens on a spectator area, and spectators are on a place that's marked as safe by the organizers, the organizers are responsible for it, 100%. So yes, you can blame the organizers when there is an accident, how funny is that... Outside the public areas designated by the organizers it's a completely different story of course.

With respect your missing the point. The organisers got it wrong, the area featured should never have been designated as a spectator area. Individuals have a duty of care to themselves, and common sense is surely at the heart of the arguement here. No matter what may be `officially` designated if it`s unsafe. it`s unsafe. There is enough footage available from the past years tradgedies to illustrate this point. The only issue threatening the Sport of Rallying at all levels is even more tragic accidents as a result of spectating. Whether it`s free or not is immaterial, when are people going to realise that our sport is NOT spectator freindly!!

Incredible how much narrow escapes there have been this rally and that every moment has been captured and put online in no-time haha.

I think it was the other way around:

1st incident (off in the snow part at the middle of the ss)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISVjSv3d9n8

2nd incident (contact with stone near the ss end)
    http://www.dici.fr/actu/2016/01/23/r...es-d-tv-698731

According to spectators, the stone was a piece of the bedrock that came out after the first loop and the guys before Meeke managed to avoid it. Maybe after the first incident Meeke came under stress and loose full concentration, but it’s a shame to end such a fine exhibition this way. It came clear that he’s the only guy able to match Ogier. Hope Matton can extend his WRC program!

On a more positive note, it was nice to see the i20’s showing more potencial, Lappi and Suninen closer to the other R5’s guys (their start positions were a bad joke) and the consistency of Evans and Veiby.

Btw, Burri Jr. is now leading Clio Cup final ahead of Rossetti, after Vaillant’s difficult morning (the winner gets six WRC3 events in a Clio).

For sure MC organizers can’t watch every single spectator, but you must admit that this event crowd's control seems to be very poor. Latvala’s incident wasn’t in a remote mountain location; it was near a little village with easy access. Marshalls and Police should be there leading people to safe places (specially after the offs of Delecour and Suarez on the first loop).

In other areas we see ‘no public’ signs but no one respecting them. It can be funny to see guys using Elephants or Bananas costumes, but an uncontrolled car won’t stop because there’s a nice atmosphere around…

I really thought FIA was taking spectator’s security seriously, after last year tragic accident in that Spanish regional rally, but it seems they’re only good on the bla, bla, bla!

And this spectator has to be fined with life long arrest because of putting his camera in dangerous places and then risking his life by trying to save his stupid camera???

We really live in strange times!
